Diabetes self-management program important to treatment plan - Journal-Advocate

The American Diabetes Association recommends that people sign up for an ADA-approved self-management plan. The diabetes self-management program at Sterling Regional MedCenter is definitely an ADA-recognized program, this means as set forth by the American Diabetes Association to ensure excellence and quality the program has achieved all of the national requirements. Taking Charge of One's Diabetes, a five-week program, is planned to begin on Thursday, April 25 at 6 p.m. Other insurance policies and Medicare may cover all or part of the charge of this system. Ask your physician's office to check on your insurance plan before referring you to the system. A written referral from your own physician is required. Pre-registration can also be required. To pre-register or to find out more call Linda Staples, RD, CDE at (970) 521-3129 or Glenda Amen, Wellness Manager at (970) 521-3260.
